Fantastic news came out of Kansas City on Tuesday, where the Chiefs announced safety Eric Berry was cleared to practice after recent tests determined he has overcome Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
UPDATE: After several rounds of thorough tests, Eric Berry has been cleared for Wednesday morning’s #ChiefsCamp practice.
The 26-year-old was diagnosed with the form of cancer in early December when doctors discovered a mass in his upper body after several MRI scans. Berry immediately began undergoing chemotherapy treatments to eliminate the disease, and recently finished in June.
Family members and team officials remained optimistic throughout the entire process, and insisted that doctors would have the final say in Berry’s potential return to the NFL.
