Safety Daniel Sorensen will return to practice this week, the Chiefs announced on Wednesday.
Sorensen was placed on injured reserve before the season after sustaining a tibia plateau fracture during training camp.
The fifth-year pro became a starter last season and looked to regain that role this season before he was injured. Sorensen will be eligible to return to action for the Nov. 4 game at Cleveland.
Sorensen has four career interceptions, including one return for a touchdown. Last season, he was credited with 88 tackles and six tackles for loss.
Eric Berry also hasn’t played this season because of an injury, leaving the Chiefs with Ron Parker, Eric Murray and Jordan Lucas at safety.
