Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles left Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium with what appeared to be a non-contact right leg injury.
Charles, who suffered the injury during a third-quarter carry, could not walk off the field under his own power. Chiefs coach Andy Reid walked onto the field and stood over him, and several teammates took a knee while he laid on the field.
Eventually, outside linebacker Justin Houston and head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder helped Charles hop off the field, all while putting zero pressure on his right knee.
Charles spent a few minutes on the training table being examined by the trainers, but was assisted to the locker room by a few members of the staff.
