Members of the Chiefs Community Caring Team, along with Chiefs rookies, cheerleaders and K.C. Wolf, got active with over 80 children and young adults with special needs to emphasize the importance of staying fit and leading a healthy lifestyle, despite any ability.
In conjunction with Play60 initiatives, participants took part in several football-themed activity stations, learning drills, building teamwork and gaining confidence regardless of any physical or intellectual limitation.

Raegan Schurr, the adaptive program director for the YMCA of Greater Kansas, says that initiatives such as the Challenger Program not only give kids of all abilities the opportunity to play sports and be active, but also allow them to be part of a team, learn new skills and most of all, make friends.
