Many Kansas City Chiefs fans believed the team found a steal in January when it signed wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers. Those people must be sorely disappointed today with the news that Kansas City has released the mercurial receiver on the eve of mandatory minicamp, according to Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star. The Chiefs also cut tackle Kevin Palmer.
Rogers came into the league as an undrafted free-agent out of Tennessee State and spent time with the Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts before briefly latching on with the Chiefs. Rogers was immensely talented in college but dealt with maturity and off-field concerns which forced his stock to fall out of the top seven rounds.
