Chiefs place tight end James O’Shaughnessy on injured reserve, add two players

It appears that the rookie season of Chiefs tight end James O’Shaughnessy has come to a close.

The Chiefs announced Tuesday that O’Shaughnessy, a fifth-round pick in this year’s draft, has been placed on injured reserve. O’Shaughnessy missed Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos with a foot injury he suffered on Thursday. He did not practice Friday.

O’Shaughnessy, 23, caught six passes for 87 yards in the Chiefs’ first seven games. He was inactive for their eighth game, a 45-10 win over the Detroit Lions, because the Chiefs wanted to take advantage of Brian Parker’s in-line blocking skills.
