The Kansas City Chiefs announced Tuesday that they’ve placed K Cairo Santos on injured reserve and signed K Harrison Butker from the Panthers’ practice squad.
Butker, 22, was taken in the seventh-round of this year’s NFL draft by the Panthers. He signed a four-year, $2.48 million contract with the Panthers and stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement.
Carolina was reportedly fielding trade offers for Butker, but no deal ever surfaced and they later cut him loose before re-signing him to their practice squad.
