Chiefs place De’Anthony Thomas on injured reserve, call up Leon McQuay

The Kansas City Chiefs have placed wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas on injured reserve, the team announced via its official Twitter account on Saturday morning.

With safety Daniel Sorensen expected back from injured reserve at some point this season and the Chiefs other recent additions to the list in Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Armani Watts, this likely ends Thomas’ season. The NFL allows two players to return from injured reserve each year.

It’s been quite a nine-day roller coaster for McQuay, the 23-year-old safety the Chiefs selected in the sixth round in last year’s draft.
