Kansas City Chiefs GM John Dorsey announced Monday that they’ve exercised OLB Dee Ford’s fifth-year option.
The fifth-year option will run the Chiefs $8,718,000 million for the 2018 season, according to Joel Corry, but is guaranteed only for injury and won’t prevent them from working on a long-term extension over the next year.
Ford is coming off of a solid 2016 season in which his pass-rushing ability was on display.
Ford, 26, was taken with the No. 23 overall pick by the Chiefs back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $8.
