Chiefs nearing decision deadline with Justin Houston

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs have one more week before they have to make a decision with linebacker Justin Houston, who is trying to return from surgery in February to repair his balky left ACL.

The Chiefs started Houston’s practice clock two weeks ago. Since he’s on the physically unable to perform list, the Chiefs have three weeks after he begins practice to either activate him to the active roster or shut him down for the remainder of the season.

The intent is still to activate Houston, but it’s unlikely that will happen in time for the game Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
