KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- You won’t find a bigger swing in defensive results from one week to the next than the one recently experienced by the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs went from forcing eight turnovers in a win over the New York Jets to allowing five touchdown passes in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“That’s the NFL,’’ defensive coordinator Bob Sutton said. “It can happen. You’d better not think you’ve arrived, ever.’’
Still, wildly varying results from one game to another are unusual. The Chiefs may be more prone to them than many other teams because they’re so young at cornerback.
