Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles spoke Saturday at the opening ceremonies for the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
Charles told a touching story of growing up and being able to compete in the Special Olympics.
“When I was 10 years old, I had a chance to compete in the Special Olympics,” Charles said. “That’s right, the Special Olympics gave me my first chance to discover a talent I did not know that I had. When I competed in the Special Olympics, I found out just how fast I was.”
