Arrowhead Stadium is getting a very noticeable upgrade, according to the Kansas City Chiefs’ official Twitter account.
In addition to brand new seating and a fresh scoreboard coming to the upper deck this fall, Arrowhead Stadium will add something the team is calling a “Drum Deck,” which will enhance the pregame drum ritual that formerly took place on the field.
From the imaging of the video, the “Drum Deck” looks like it will be built between sections 335 and 336. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes retweeted the official announcement.
The Chiefs invite special guests (such as ex-players like Will Shields, celebrities like Rob Riggle and even owner Clark Hunt prior to the AFC championship) to pound the drum and jumpstart the Chop before each home game.
