At Arrowhead Stadium, all signs point to veteran D.J. Humphries becoming the Kansas City Chiefs’ starting left tackle in Sunday night’s matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chiefs signed Humphries two days before their Week 12 win over the Carolina Panthers, and the short preparation time before Week 13’s “Black Friday” game against the Las Vegas Raiders left the coaching staff hesitant to play him.
However, following Wanya Morris’s mid-game replacement by left guard Joe Thuney, Kansas City appears inclined to make the change.
“[Humphries] took some snaps last week, but this will be faster for him,” said head coach Andy Reid on Wednesday.
