Terez A. Paylor reports that the Chiefs will host former Bengals LB Rey Maualuga for a visit on Thursday.
This is the first reported interest in Maualuga since he became available a few weeks ago. Although, it’s a good sign for Maualuga that he was able to set up a visit so soon after he was released.
It’s worth mentioning that signing Maualuga to a contract won’t impact a team’s compensatory picks, considering that he was released.
Maualuga, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Bengals back in 2009. He was entering the final year of his three-year, $15 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $3.
