Chiefs coach Andy Reid will remain with the team after receiving a contract extension but general manager John Dorsey is out effective immediately, the team announced Thursday.
Team chairman Clark Hunt said in a release that he had told Dorsey he wouldn’t extend his contract beyond this season, but “after consideration, we felt it was in his best interests and the best interests of the team to part ways now.”
“This decision, while a difficult one, allows John to pursue other opportunities as we continue our preparations for the upcoming season and the seasons to come,” Hunt said.
