Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo acknowledged that in Saturday’s win over the Houston Texans, his unit was resilient and adaptable — particularly in the wake of safety Chamarri Conner’s concussion in Week 15.
Rookie Chris Roland-Wallace has been in the rotation as a slot corner during Conner’s absence, delivering a performance that drew praise from Spagnuolo.
“I thought he did a great job,” he said. “He’s one of those guys that I’ve been real hopeful for all season long… the more reps he gets, the better he gets. He’s a real smart, intelligent football player with some instincts.
