The Chiefs must pare their roster from 75 to 53 players by 3 p.m. Saturday. Here’s a running tracker of their cuts with some analysis.
SATURDAY
4:03 p.m. — The Chiefs finally announced the remaining six cuts (they have a roster exemption for Eric Berry until next Saturday). They are: receiver Frankie Hammond, safety Brock Vereen, linebacker Tyrell Adams and quarterback Kevin Hogan. Receiver Rod Streater was dealt to San Francisco for an undisclosed draft pick.
Analysis: The most surprising cuts come at receiver, where Streater — who flashed this preseason — was released, leaving Jeremy Maclin, Chris Conley, Albert Wilson, Tyreek Hill, De’Anthony Thomas and Demarcus Robinson to carry the weight.
