Chiefs coaches have a ‘new appreciation’ for Joe Thuney

The Kansas City Chiefs successfully navigated a brutal late-season stretch, playing three games in a 10-day period from Weeks 15 to 17. Their reward for those efforts was clinching the AFC’s top playoff seed before the season’s end. However, they are expected to rest key starters during Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Denver Broncos.

A major hero of Kansas City’s December stand is veteran guard Joe Thuney, who was named to the Pro Bowl for a third consecutive season on Thursday.

After the Chiefs saw middling left tackle play from three different options throughout the season, they moved Thuney outside for Week 15’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
