After quarterback Alex Smith was knocked out of the game — twice — during the Chiefs’ 30-14 win over Indianapolis, coach Andy Reid was asked if he believes the two hits on Smith, delivered by Edwin Jackson and Clayton Geathers, were dirty.
“As far as if it was a cheap shot or not? I can’t answer that — I’m not,” Reid said. “I enjoy my money too much to make a comment on that.”
Geathers — who used his left forearm to slam Smith’s head into the turf on the second hit — told The Indianapolis Star that he “wasn’t trying to be dirty at all.
