Since the beginning of John Dorsey’s tenure as general manager of the Kansas City Chiefs, the 54-year-old has been active in addressing the Kansas City secondary. The result has been one of the top pass defenses in the NFL, but also a high turnover rate, which would suggest no one should get too comfortable with their position.
That has continued in the 2015 offseason, so far. One wouldn’t expect the second-rated pass defense in the NFL to be so active in bringing in new talent. Yet, coming into the offseason, the Chiefs secondary was somewhat unsettled. Sean Smith is in a contract year and his agent has expressed that they have no problem playing out the contract without negotiating an extension.
