KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Andy Reid wasn't enlightening in his response to questions over why the Kansas City Chiefs released rookie cornerback KeiVarae Russell, their third-round draft pick.
The Chiefs replaced him on the roster with linebacker Dezman Moses, whom the team cut last week.
"We felt that was the best thing to do for the Chiefs right now," said Reid, who indicated it was purely a football decision. "That's just how we felt. We evaluate players and that's how we felt."
Reid is rarely critical of players in public so his vague response isn't surprising.
