KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- When it comes to running with the ball, Alex Smith of the Kansas City Chiefs might not be as good as some of his quarterback counterparts around the league. But he’s been plenty good with that part of his game, and Smith’s scrambling has been a big part of the Chiefs’ 9-game winning streak.
Smith has rarely been as effective with his running as he was in last week’s win over the Cleveland Browns. Smith scrambled for 50 yards and three first downs. He converted with a scramble on a third down on the Chiefs’ first touchdown drive and he had a 29-yard run to set up Kansas City’s other touchdown.
