KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Things turned out for the best for quarterback Alex Smith with regard to his latest brush with injury. He says he was never concussed, the Kansas City Chiefs won their game without him, and this time he didn’t lose his starting job. He’ll be back in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
But Smith said the concussion that wasn’t scared him enough to where he will operate differently when he’s a runner, as he was on both hits that knocked him out of the game two weeks ago against the Indianapolis Colts.
