KANSAS CITY, Mo. – His usual postgame video review revealed to Alex Smith something, or more accurately someone, the Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback didn’t see during the biggest play of last week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Through the eye in the sky, Smith saw Tampa Bay safety Chris Conte in the passing lane on the fourth quarter pass into the end zone. Conte’s interception not only prevented the Chiefs from scoring but his return to midfield set up the Bucs for what would be their game-winning touchdown.
“I obviously didn’t see the safety live," Smith said.
