Chiefs running back Damien Williams will take big-play opportunities where he can find them.
In Sunday’s 37-21 victory over the Cleveland Browns, it was on special teams.
Williams blocked a punt in the third quarter that led to a short touchdown drive. It was the Chiefs’ first blocked punt since their final game of the 2016 season.
“He did a phenomenal job blocking that thing,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said.
Williams lined up on the left side and simply overpowered his blocker. At the last moment, Williams hoisted his left hand up and deflected the ball off the foot of Britton Colquitt, brother of the Chiefs’ punter, Dustin Colquitt.
