The Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0 following Sunday’s 17-10 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. But wide receiver Rashee Rice’s first-quarter knee injury — which could sideline him for the remainder of the season — has left the roster decimated at an already-thin position; both receivers we expected to lead the Chiefs in 2024 are now out indefinitely.
Even worse, the long-term injury to starting running back Isiah Pacheco has left the team’s offensive skill-position group greatly depleted. It’s too much to ask quarterback Patrick Mahomes — who was already struggling through lineup changes around him — to keep Kansas City atop the AFC with the current pass-catching corps.
