The Chiefs never flew to Denver.
The way this theory goes, when the Kansas City Chiefs arrived at Kansas City International Airport on Saturday afternoon and learned their plane was grounded due to the winter storm that hit the Kansas City area over the weekend, they called it quits and turned around and went home, opting instead to send Almost Andy Reid and a local troop of high school thespians to act like they were playing football in their place, even going as far as hiring look-alikes of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and defensive lineman Chris Jones to stand on the sideline to help sell con to the television cameras.
