With the recent shift to a 17-game regular-season in the National Football League, the trade-off on the overall schedule for players was that only three preseason games are played these days, a step down from the four preseason exhibitions that dominated the month of August for so long.
For the Kansas City Chiefs, the preseason will give head coach Andy Reid and his staff a chance to sort through some very serious competition at several positions. On the defensive side, the Chiefs have an abundance of riches at both linebacker and the secondary and will have to figure out how to sort out responsibilities and playing time.
