Janoris Jenkins and Darius Slay continue to come up in NFL trade rumors as several teams are looking to get cornerback help including the Kansas City Chiefs. Which corner makes more since for KC? Slay is two years younger and the better player, but Jenkins is still very productive and wouldn’t cost as much in a trade. Linebacker is a position the Chiefs could target in a trade as they have struggled mightily against the run. How about Buccaneers LB Lavonte David? David brings leadership and attitude and would be a major upgrade on the Chiefs defense.
The Chiefs defensive line is dealing with several injuries with Frank Clark and Chris Jones sidelined. Both are expected to come back somewhat soon, but their timetables are uncertain at this point. Could trading for Ndamukong Suh make sense for Kansas City? Suh would certainly add depth and experience in the middle of the Chiefs D-Line. Ryan Kerrigan would be a nice edge rusher to trade for as well. The Redskins are reportedly holding firm, but at 1-7 they might consider trading Kerrigan.
