During the offseason there was some thought that the Jacksonville Jaguars could look to either free agency or the NFL Draft to replace veteran middle linebacker Paul Posluszny. It was a combination of salary, injury history and Poz’s overall limited skillset in a pass-happy NFL, but the veteran ended up restructuring his contract and cutting his salary cap hit quite a bit.
It made sense at the time, but according to Alex Marvez of Fox Sports it may have been a move to keep himself on the roster.
