New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz took issue Tuesday with how receiver Odell Beckham was treated by the Jaguars’ defensive backs last week.
In a roundabout way, Cruz, who didn’t play because of injury, thought the Jaguars’ defensive backs were targeting Beckham.
“I was a little unhappy last week,” Cruz told New York reporters. “I felt like some of those defensive backs were kind of gunning for him and it was sad to see that go down because I couldn’t help him.”
Does “gunning for him,” mean attempting to take cheap shots at Beckham? Or does “gunning for him” mean dedicating their coverage toward him?
