UPDATE: Thomas will undergo surgery on finger

UPDATE: After the doctor's visit on Tuesday, it was deemed that Thomas would undergo surgery, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. The surgery is expected to force him to miss four weeks with a potential return set for Week 4.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell announced that tight end Julius Thomas will seek a second opinion on his finger injury.

The free agent signing broke his finger during the Jaguars first preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this month. He may have to undergo surgery to clean out the injury, which would cost him four weeks of action after the procedure, according to Caldwell.
