Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer wanted to see the offense execute more efficiently before the start of the regular season, and he got just that with his rookie quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, shining during the team’s third preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Playing in just three drives, Lawrence posted a nearly-perfect outing, completing 11 out of 12 of his throws for 139 yards and two touchdowns. On the first drive, Lawrence completed a perfect deep pass to Phillip Dorsett, hitting the receiver for a 39-yard gain, his most explosive pass of the preseason.
Despite playing without four of the team’s five starting offensive linemen, including left tackle Cam Robinson, guards Andrew Norwell and AJ Cann and center Brandon Linder, the Jaguars were able to execute against the Cowboys' backups.
