New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. sprinting down the sideline is arguably the best test the preseason can provide a secondary.
Jaguars free safety Sergio Brown passed the test Saturday night in the team’s 22-12 loss.
Beckham was targeted five times, but didn’t catch a pass from quarterback Eli Manning. While Manning seemed off his game, Brown still showed the skills the Jaguars coveted when they signed him early in the free-agent process.
The sixth-year veteran displayed quality speed in running from the middle of the field to the sideline to help the cornerbacks defend Beckham on deep balls.
