Report: Jaguars set to re-sign DE Dawuane Smoot

The Jaguars made another move to address its defensive line today, re-signing one of their own in defensive end Dawuane Smoot. The deal, according to a report from NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport will be a two-year, $14M contract.

Smoot, 26, was originally selected by the Jaguars in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft and had become one of the team’s most important defenders over the past two seasons, leading the team in sacks last year with 5.5.

Playing multiple roles, including filling in on the inside as a defensive tackle, playing primarily as a defensive end.
