The Jaguars have lessened the number of potential backups to Nick Foles on Saturday and finally executed what had become an obvious move, as The Athletic’s Phillip Heilman reported that the team has released 2018 sixth-round pick, Tanner Lee.
Lee’s short stint in Jacksonville was a disappointing one to say the least, as he never showed any level of competently being able to command a NFL caliber offense and proved to be one of the worst draft selections of the Dave Caldwell/Tom Caldwell era.
The move leaves the team with only Gardner Minshew and Alex McGough as the options behind Foles, with Minshew all but certain to be the team’s backup on September 8th against the Chiefs.
