Second-year veteran Blake Bortles will get the next two seasons to establish himself as the long-term answer for the next dozen years.
Still, Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell and coach Gus Bradley won’t ignore the position in this draft cycle. Sure, Caldwell is unlikely to invest one of his seven current picks in a quarterback. However, there is work to be done.
“We grade them and evaluate them all, just as if we would need one,” Caldwell said. “You want to be prepared because, going forward, we’re going to be playing against a lot of these guys, and it’s good to have some background on them.
