The Jaguars’ rebuilt defense will be the primary focus when the team travels to face the New York Jets in Thursday’s preseason opener.
But keep an eye on the running game as well. Specifically, Chris Ivory.
Ivory didn’t generate the buzz that signing free-agent defensive tackle Malik Jackson and drafting cornerback Jalen Ramsey and linebacker Myles Jack did this offseason. However, adding Ivory could be one of the final pieces to the Jaguars sporting a balanced offense.
The Jaguars know they can throw the ball. Quarterback Blake Bortles teamed with receivers Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns to finish 10th in the NFL in passing last season.
