Perry Fewell: Jaguars secondary wasn’t as ‘good as we could have been’

The Jacksonville Jaguars secondary was very, very, very good last year. I don’t know if it will hit us just how good until years later, but allowing just 169.9 yards per game through the air is an incredible feat — the next best was the Minnesota Vikings allowing 192.4 yards per game.

Only the 2009 New York Jets (153.7 yards per game) and 2008 Pittsburgh Steelers (156.9 yards per game) have done better since 2004.

But Jaguars defensive backs coach Perry Fewell still sees room for improvement, especially in the middle downs when a tweak here or there is the difference between third-and-short and third-and-long.
