The NFL office said tonight officials in Sunday’s Jaguars-Ravens game erred in not assessing the Jaguars a false start penalty, which would have prevented Jason Myers’ winning 53-yard field goal.
NFL spokesperson Michael Signora told the Baltimore Sun the Jaguars were not set when Blake Bortles was face-masked by Elvis Dumervil to extend the game by one play.
Had officials called the Jaguars for a false start, there would be a 10-second run-off since they were out of timeouts and the game would ended with the Ravens winning 20-19.
Here is Signora's full statement to the Times-Union: "Inside of one minute remaining of either half, with the game clock running, when the offense is not set simultaneously prior to the snap, it’s a false start.
