NFL Lookahead: Marcus Mariota's success might be bad sign for Jaguars

Uh-oh.

I realize the last thing Jaguars fans need right now is bad news.

After all, the team is 9-40 dating back to 2012 and shows little hope of improvement after Sunday’s opening 20-9 loss to visiting Carolina.

However, the sting of that disappointment is compounded by another Sunday development.

Tennessee rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota looked sensational in his debut.

Misery loves company, but the Jaguars might not have it anymore from their old AFC South rivals when it comes to shoddy quarterback play.

At least when the Jaguars took Blaine Gabbert 10th overall in the 2011 draft, they were somewhat comforted by the Titans selecting Jake Locker with the seventh pick.
