During a new conference Tuesday introducing him as the Tennessee Titans’ interim coach, former Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey couldn’t resist a jab at ex-general manager Gene Smith.
Smith hired Mularkey in 2012 and both were fired after a 2-14 season, Smith a day after the year by owner Shad Khan and Mularkey two weeks later by new general manager Dave Caldwell.
“I was proud of what [the players] did [in 2012] — we could’ve used more help roster-wise,” Mularkey told reporters in Nashville, Tenn. “But with what we had, we had a chance to win every week and the players believed that.
