Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell added seven free agents in March to try to boost a team coming off a 5-11 season. Now, he gets more chances to upgrade the roster when the NFL Draft begins Thursday. The Jaguars are armed with eight picks in the draft, acquiring an extra sixth-round choice from Pittsburgh in the trade involving kicker Josh Scobee last year. Despite the significant free-agent additions on defense, expect Caldwell to continue to build up that side of the ball.
Here is a look at how the Jaguars’ draft haul might look.
FIRST ROUND (5TH-OVERALL PICK)
OLB MYLES JACK, UCLA
If Caldwell makes this pick, Jack’s knee injury from last September is a non-issue.
