My ace researcher – Times-Union high schools/Armada reporter Clayton Freeman – always digs up interesting facts about the Jaguars. And this is another one.
The subject is kicker Jason Myers, who is 23-of-29 on extra-points – the six misses are a league-high.
Comrade Freeman writes …
“By now, everyone knows that Jason Myers has trouble with extra points, and that's not a good thing. But just how bad is missing six extra points in a season? So bad that it hasn't been seen since 1981.
“In that year, in fact, three kickers missed six or more extra points: The Chargers' Rolf Benirschke (55 of 61), the Raiders' Chris Bahr (27 of 33) and the Steelers' David Trout (38 of 46).
