Louis Rees-Zammit signed for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday. The former Wales rugby international embarked upon an NFL career this year, joining the league’s International Player Pathway program. Initially signing with the Chiefs in March, Rees-Zammit was waived by Kansas City on Wednesday as they finalized their rosters for the season.
Formerly a wing or a full-back for Gloucester and Wales Rugby, Rees-Zammit has 32 international caps for his country, as well as playing for the British & Irish Lions four times. Despite never having put a helmet on before, his intention to change sports was greeted with dismay in his homeland.
