Patterson was originally claimed off waivers by the Jaguars in August of 2022 and succeeded Josh Lambo as the starting kicker. He connected on 30 of 35 field goal attempts (85.7%) and 36 of 37 extra points (97.3%) in the regular season before nailing the biggest kick in franchise history during Jacksonville’s historic playoff win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Despite that game-icing kick, the Jaguars opted to sign Brandon McManus in 2023 free agency in search of a stronger leg.
