Jaguars TV ratings for Steeler game topped last year's regular season finale

If the TV ratings are a barometer, Jaguars fans are energized about the new season.

The ratings were actually better for the preseason opener against Pittsburgh than they were for the final regular season game in Houston last year when the Jaguar loss dropped them to a 13-3 record.

The game against Pittsburgh got an 18.7 rating (percentage of TV sets tuned into the game), a 32 share (percentage of TVs turned on that were tuned to the game) and was watched in 123,000 households.

By contrast, the season finale at Houston last year got a 17.
