Today, the Jaguars officially trimmed its roster down to 80 players from 84.
Among the moves, the team officially placed first-round pick, running back Travis Etienne on the team’s injured reserve list after the rookie running back suffered a reported lisfranc injury, or midfoot sprain, during the team’s 23-21 loss against the New Orleans Saints on Monday night.
Etienne’s rookie year is now over as he cannot be activated from the team’s reserve/injured list this year. Only players that are placed on the list following the official deadline for teams to cut down to 53 players are eligible to be on short-term injured reserve status.
