The Jacksonville Jaguars do not have to complete their roster trim down until Saturday afternoon, but they’ve already started informing some players of their pending release. One veteran who has already been informed of his release is defensive lineman Datone Jones, according to one report.
Tomorrow is cut-down but for some teams, they have begun: The #Jaguars have released former first-round DT Datone Jones, source said. He blocked a FG last night.

The cut is a bit of a surprise, but perhaps the team leaked in hope of someone lower on the waiver wire being willing to throw a late round draft pick to get Jones on their roster.
